From the 1st of January 2012 Ukrainian Center for AIDS Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine started officially as the Principal Recipient the implementation process of the 10 round of the grant of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria (GF). Within a month the selection process of the grant implementation staff was finished and the first disbursement from the GF was received.

On the 1st of December each year Ukraine together with the international community traditionally celebrates World AIDS Day. It’s main purpose - to draw public attention to the threat of HIV infection for humanity, for countries and for every person regardless of age, sex and social status. Unfortunately this threat is rather high for Eastern Europe and particularly for Ukraine.
Center Director took part in study tour to the United States on medication-assisted treatment policy and practices to prevent HIV/AIDS
From 22.10.2011 to 29.10.2011 in Partnership Framework Between The Government of the United States of America and The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine On cooperation in countering HIV/AIDS in 2011 – 2015 the study tour of high level Ukrainian government officials and ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine” specialists to the United States held to visit institutions and programs that use drug maintenance treatment to deal with opioid dependence.
On 9-12 May 2011 the 23rd Global Fund Board Meeting took place
On 9-12 May 2011 the 23rd Global Fund Board Meeting took place, with the main goal to discuss five year strategy and reform plan for improving of operational management and strengthening of organizational efficiency of the Global Fund (GF) programs. In the new five year strategy (2012-2016) of the GF, built in the goal to save more than 20 millions of lives and prevent 200 millions of new cases. It was paid attention to transparency procedures and changes in PRs accountability. The GF reform strategy was approved that was developed, that was created by the decision of the 22nd Global Fund Board Meeting in December 2010. In the membership of the Working Group according to assignment of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Constituency worked the director of Ukrainian AIDS Center, professor N.Nizova.
